Poems > The Meadow
by Lauren Willis - September 3, 2000

In a rich, green meadow,
Here I lay my head to rest,
Upon a pillow of violets,
And a rose upon my chest.
The rustle of the trees,
And the deep blue sky,
Soft cotton clouds,
The breeze now just a sigh.
I lift my eyes heavenward,
To the sun so bright.
And stayed long enough,
To see the dawn of night.
